Climate Action Plan

In April 2025 the Uchucklesaht Tribe Government (UTG) completed its first Climate Action Plan (link to document: PDF).

This comprehensive plan outlines 50 short and long term actions UTG will take to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to the ongoing impacts of climate change within our territory. The development of the plan was led by the Department of Lands and Resources, in collaboration with expert consultants and a dedicated Climate Action Working Group made up of 23 Uchucklesaht citizens.

Valuable insights were also gathered through a community survey, completed by 61 citizens, ensuring the plan reflects the voices and priorities of the wider Uchucklesaht community.

To document and share this journey, UTG created a short film titled "Uchucklesaht's Climate Action Story," which captures key moments and perspectives from the planning process.
